Comments by "Roger Smith" (@rogersmith8339) on "NEW Driving Law Recommendations" video.
It is a bit like pleading poverty when caught shoplifting. Understandable when it is a loaf of bread but not when it is a pair of designer trainers. I wonder how many of these drivers have more than a pretty basic older car?

@lxdimension Not another BMW / Audi driver complaining about speed limits on roads were 20 is quite often plenty if not excessive under some circumstances.
2
@Old_Man_Pete People seem to have no concept of average speed and hence journey time hence they think 20 is some kind of conspiracy.
2
Are they incompetent or is it deliberate?

The big issue with banned drivers is that they already ignore the rules. One way would be to stop them from being able to buy fuel or even make it much more difficult to buy a car due to law changes (maybe along the lines of the firearms laws). Certainly seizing cars and destroying their cars is good.
1
@no-oneinparticular7264 That should be even more reason to avoid the risk.
1
@clivewilliams3661 You are not talking about a one of transgression but repeat offenders. If it is speeding, get a slower car, it could even save you road tax and insurance costs. Many cars these days have cruise control and/ or speed limiters (even my cheap old French one from 8 or 9 years ago and not new then did).
1
@clivewilliams3661 In answer to your question, in your mind?
1
@andywilliams7323 Even more reason to avoid breaking the law then?
1
@davidbarlow431 No, it was so professional footballers could continue driving their Bentleys etc after being caught drunk or drugged.

It is a bit like saying I stabbed him because I was poor or had a bad childhood.
1
@andywilliams7323 Her not being banned for life and banned from even owning a car is appaling even given her son's condition (that may well be her responsibility anyway).
1
@andywilliams7323 To quote a person mentioned in a previous comment, it is likely that the condition of the child had something to do with the mother and her lifestyle.
1
@andywilliams7323 What about some of the crashes she has had with her brat in the car? Obviously a very caring mother who is prepared to make money out of her son.
1
@andywilliams7323 No it isn't and is just an excuse for reckless behaviour.
1
@15bit62 I must confess that I think there should be 30 limit reminders like there are for 20 and 40 limits .
1
@rickconstant6106 I find it interesting that, although a car is a potential lethal weapon and can be so inadvertently, there are no restrictions whatsoever on who can buy one or the top speed they are capable of. Just look at all the restrictions on gun ownership in the UK when cars kill far more people.

@GoldenbanjoDJ Ever heard of a duty of care?
1
@andywilliams7323 More by good luck than anything else!
1
@andywilliams7323 A genetic condition you say, so quite likely both his parents are the cause.
1
@andywilliams7323 Did you not say that is a genetic condition which would imply it was inherited?
1
@no-oneinparticular7264 A well deserved too for ignoring the law multiple times.
1
@andywilliams7323 Maybe the banned driver should be made to pay for taxis for the people who have been affected by his behaviour? That might be more of a deterrent?
1
@andywilliams7323 Katie Price could very easily afford to pay for taxis given the amount of money she has / makes. I believe the last crash she had was in a very expensive car and was there not something about drugs being involved?
1
@ItsOnlyMe247 And you are obviously one of the dangerous drivers. Let me guess, a BMW or an Audi or is it a Merc?
1
@firstknight6057 Another plonker hits the keyboard!
1
@grahamstretch6863 That is rather a big word to use when addressing a halfwit.
1
@Eric_Hunt194 Probably either a white van man or a prestige German car driver .
1
@footballasylum6239 Love your name, and very appropriate for many football fans as that would be a good place for them.
1
I guess many would be capable but a, they have to toe the line to get anywhere (there are crude terms used in industry) and b, they get consumed by the power they have.
1
@dartmoorkid4797 And doesn't change the people who actually run the country ( the civil service).
1
@vatsmith8759 British Citizenship is pretty easy to get, even those born in Southampton can!
1
@JimboXX78 The Red Wall situation was a classic example.

We should all remember that Hitler and Mugabe were both democratically elected.

@davidchilds9590 They are only tested on how well they can lie and whether they know what to say to around 1/3 of the voting age population.
