  1. My father was working on a US airbase just post war when the RAF brought one in for some work. It was carrying one of the big ones. When loaded onto the bomb trolley it sank in the tarmac! The Yanks would not believe it could take off from their runway (Bovingdon inHerts). It did, no problem!
