You do realize Bernie is a socialist right? You do also realize that Venezuela is a socialist country, right? Just a few years ago Bernie said it was the best place to live, a rising star. The bottom line is socialism fails over and over and over and over again but for some reason the retards that support it think it will be different each and every time? If just a few short years ago Bernie thought that Venezuela was the future, you have to ask yourself what went wrong?

  22.  @jonasstoerfeuer4193  one of the reasons that a large social system works fairly well in Australia is the fact that you control your borders and immigration policies. Unfortunately in the United States, the Democrats have advocated for open borders for years and now we have too many freeloaders to provide all those benefits to our actual citizens. You can either have a large social safety net or open borders but you can't have both. Unfortunately the Democrats have decided that open borders is more important.

You just don't seem to possess the intellect required to grasp that fact. So let's move on to the reason it won't work in America. Most real economist's, not the ones paid by political pundits but the credibie ones have estimated that we would have to nearly double tax rates over what we currently have to offer all the handouts you speak of. America just voted overwhelmingly to reduce tax rates, not raise them. We As Americans also value our freedom and the ability to choose what we feel is right for us, not what the government thinks will work best. In addition, one of the serious problems America has is the fact that we have created a massive welfare state because of open borders and unfiltered immigration for decades. Now we have to face the fact that we can either have a large welfare state or we can have open borders but we can't have both. Unfortunately for all Americans, the left has decided that open borders were more important. Now they're going to have a tough time understanding that you can't support the entire world. As Margaret Thatcher once said: socialism is great until you run out of other people's money. This is hard for a lot of young people to grasp considering most of them can't even do simple arithmetic. The numbers just don't work. Most Millennials in our country one free college yet are public schools run by the government have become so disfunctional they can't even do simple math and read and write properly. What's the sense of sending people to college that can't even read and write correctly?
