  24.  @jonasstoerfeuer4193  I'm going to give up on trying to educate you on the fact that Venezuela has a democratically elected leader. You just don't seem to possess the intellect required to grasp that fact. So let's move on to the reason it won't work in America. Most real economist's, not the ones paid by political pundits but the credibie ones have estimated that we would have to nearly double tax rates over what we currently have to offer all the handouts you speak of. America just voted overwhelmingly to reduce tax rates, not raise them. We As Americans also value our freedom and the ability to choose what we feel is right for us, not what the government thinks will work best. In addition, one of the serious problems America has is the fact that we have created a massive welfare state because of open borders and unfiltered immigration for decades. Now we have to face the fact that we can either have a large welfare state or we can have open borders but we can't have both. Unfortunately for all Americans, the left has decided that open borders were more important. Now they're going to have a tough time understanding that you can't support the entire world. As Margaret Thatcher once said: socialism is great until you run out of other people's money. This is hard for a lot of young people to grasp considering most of them can't even do simple arithmetic. The numbers just don't work. Most Millennials in our country one free college yet are public schools run by the government have become so disfunctional they can't even do simple math and read and write properly. What's the sense of sending people to college that can't even read and write correctly?
