The Frankfurt School attracts authoritarian collectivists - people have free will; we all have different tastes and preferences; if somebody wants to consume mass culture they should be allowed to do so. It's extremely arrogant for the likes of Marcuse to put forward the notion that he can run/manage your life better then you can yourself.
