  4. There is either a gauge or screen that shows the psi increase as the press adds pressure to the sample. On a gauge when max strength is reached the needle stays in place. On a digital screen the screen will display the highest strength as the cylinder reaches failure. A concrete cylinder has failed when the psi hits the climax and then the psi decreases as the cylinder loses strength.
