I've lived in both Italy and Spain, and I've seen things going from bad to worse. There's no political unity or seriousness AT ALL in both countries that would allow for significant reforms. At least not on their own. The only viable path for reforms would be an imposed one. The EU would force the reforms in exchange for money, and Italian and Spanish politicians would continue to blame all of their problems on the EU, while obeying. Can't see another possible scenario. Leaving the euro would completely devastate Italian and Spanish economies, Argentinian style. For the northern countries, leaving the euro would mean losing a major economic force when dealing with other countries, specially the USA and China.

I'm in Brazil for a while. Mid December, I've sold my Euros for 1 to 6 Reais. On mid April I've sold them for 1 to 4,5. Ive lost 25% of my euros' value in a very brief time. Taking into account that Reais is NOT a strong currency, that pretty much tells everything you need to know.

@dayros2023 Nationalism is one of the best methods for politicians to CONTROL their citizens. "If you criticize us, you're not a true Italian". Works all the time.

@playthegame7445 Indeed, and that pretty much tells you that the euro has lost value.

@playthegame7445 I honestly don't understand you. First you disagree that the euro has lost value. Then you explain the reasons why the euro has lost value. Which one should I disregard?

@playthegame7445 Nah, not doomed. Just lost value. If things go the right way, it might regain its previous value. Which is good for me, since my money is in euros.
