Comments by "" (@maccagrabme) on "Electric vehicles sales drop is 'a CONCERN for 2030 target' says Auto Trader Commercial Director" video.
So let me get this right, they want us to pay 60k for an electric vehicle which is 1p per mile cheaper to run, is far less convenient to refuel, limited range, batteries dont last for the lifetime of the car and cost a fortune and you have to install expensive infrastructure to charge at home and there is the possibilty of not being able to drive it freely if 15 min zones are enforced? I cant see the appeal, apart from those Harry Enfield Loadsa money types wanting to flaunt it but it now appears they couldnt really afford it if they are struggling with cost of living. Looks like I wont be able to drive come 2030 as there is no way I can justify the cost and I wont be alone but thats what they want isnt it? Reform party 1000%++++

@steveb951 Its not practical for the average wage earner though, sounds like you have deep pockets so you will be fine but the majority of us wont be. Then further down the line they will expect us all to "upgrade" to a heat pump boiler which isnt practical for most and costs a fortune and isnt as efficient and to make modifications to our homes to fall in with the made up net zilch regs. The average person doesnt have this type of money after decades or wage erosion, taxes, mismanagement of the economy and no long term infrastructure planning. Lets say you get your new electric then how are you going to feel when they tell you you can only drive it for 15 mins due to restrictions and you cannot exceed the speed limit of 20 miles per hour and they programme it into the firmware of the car?

But thats still not enough for the powers that shouldnt be and they will be expecting you to scrap it in 8 years.

Dont tell me they will introduce HELP TO BUY for electric cars?

Agreed, especially as these actors calling themselves politicians have completely failed to plan ahead and havent built a single new clear pwr stn since 1995 and have decimated peoples wages for the last two decades whilst trippling house prices and the cost of living.
1
Not so sure, if more people actually earned proper wages I think a lot more would have been driving them by now.
1
Yes because the actors posing as politicians havent built the necessary infrastructure and have blown it on useless tat.
1
And the powers that shouldnt be have probably been throwing billions worldwide at buying up petrol/diesel cars to push the prices up on the second hand market.

This tech should have been introduced 20 yrs ago when people had the cash and jobs were aplenty, its now at the stage where its becoming obsolete due to twenty thirty age N Dar restrictions.

@jonathanparle8429 The average wage earner cannot afford them, these people acting as politicians are living in cloud cuckooland and think we are all wealthy and just pretending to be poor.
1
Agreed, its pointless having one if you have a 15 min range.
