The days when TV cared about ordinary people's concerns.
203
We now pay them a billion a month to put up with all these rules and regulations and loss of soverignty, democracy and industry and to prop up a cartel so the consumer pays way over the odds and have to tolerate unlimited, uncontrolled mass immigration from the EU pushing wages down, asset prices up whilst draining our resources, public services and NHS . How on earth does any of this benefit Joe public and what were people smoking back then to fall for it?

So a big EU cartel like we thought all along and why we voted out and we are a charity case to the rest of the EU having to bail them out via high membership fees and high prices. TV as honest as this is very rare now in UK. Remoaners should be watching this. That housewife sounds middle class and even she is complaining about prices. Nowadays they have buy to let's and are fleecing working class people with high rents to offset the high prices.

If you could go forward in time with your modern technology can you imagine how unimpressed people would be?

@paulbaumer8210 Surprised you didnt join your slave masters across the pond if you thought everyone was so racist. Must have been a living hell for you tolerating Brits.

@paulbaumer8210 I dont think Brits were the only nation in the 70s with terrible fashion sense and Punks didnt exactly improve matters. Perhaps the people you knew were all BBC employees as I dont recall anyone in my circle obsessed with sex or any racists. I think British people are incredibly friendly people compared to other nations and considering the differences between some of the people coming here I think the British did incredibly well to integrate and to be inclusive, some of that was through having a sense of humour which the Brits were well known for and many foreign people were relaxed about this and saw the funny side of it. Whereas now of course you can't say anything without offending someone and British culture and history is being trashed as we speak, so much better than the 70s though.

Off course that MEP thought food was cheap on his megabucks from the EEC. He comes across like a rabid remoaner who won't hear a bad word about the EU. Those TV stations have been told to dumb it down since the 70s.

The Internet nowadays is pretty boring compared to what it used to be, Now it's too corporate driven, full of ads and censored with little to no privacy. The benefits today are the speeds, richer media like streaming but apart from that it's not much better than it was 20 yrs ago. I had all the best parts of the Internet in the early 90s with Compuserve.
