  1. the pretense of national community has been largely scrubbed away by the stresses of failure to cope with the virus. it was just a pretense, always, but now lies, personal and organized are common currency and all measures short of violence are in use to preserve the rule of the elite. the 'children's crusade' at the capitol is actually a trivial occurrence, symptomatic of the rage infecting the dispossessed exworkers, but not representing any effective resistance. this is not the end of days, societies often struggle on with rebellions bubbling away, look at french history. but it will require military force to keep the lid on, in future. emigrate, if you can. learn subsistence farming if not. usa is a long way from done, unfortunately, but it's breaking up.
