  1. in a democracy, there are no politicians. the public service manages the nation under direction of the voters, through referendum, and occasional initiative. when you have initiative, you don't need twitter, and rich men don't control access to free speech. but you don't live in a democracy, and you are not citizen-quality people. you live in a plutocracy, and you make jokes about it, instead of organizing a revolution.
