the employment called 'politician' is corrupting. some resist, to some degree. all serve themself, ahead of the nation. which is why getting democracy is desirable. in a genuine democracy, there would be no politicians. expert professionals in public service would run the nation, openly. under direction of the electorate through referendum and initiative. we haven't managed that yet. swiss make a reasonable proto-democracy, no one else even close. politicians are the successors of aristocracy, who were the successors of warlords. no democracy in that history. many claim to be doing 'democracy' for you. that's a nonsense. they are blatant liars. and you go along with the lie, because resistance is hard. the result will be collapse of society as environment makes radical change under rising temperature.
