  1. voltaire made a career out of the insanity of his government. but this is usa. no insanity there! sociopaths, otoh, there is no shortage. many in government. but that's nature for you. a nation of ignorant fools will not be governed by philosophers, much less by angels. the concept of rule by color-labelled gangs was trialed by the byzantine empire. it was meaning-less thuggery then, much like the red-blue contention in modern usa. the actual business of government goes on out of sight, utterly unaffected by popular opinion. that's why a populace of ignorant fools is harmless - the real people are in charge, relax. naturally, they are looting the nation, and the world, but that is evolution. future-man will be orcs ruled by degenerate wizards. for awhile, anyway - this is heading towards extinction.
