you may think looting is not a protest, i agree. it's just opportunism of a person who resides in the usa, but is not a part of the society. otoh, i reckon, if society doesn't have a place for you, aside from a cell, then it's only sensible to commit a crime and enjoy the proceeds while you can. so, while it's not a protest, you could describe looting as an act of contempt , for a society that is very contemptible.
