  1. i used to ask myself, why don't people want democracy? why do they prefer to live in a nation ruled by political gangsters, or military gangsters, or simple gangster gangsters? short answer is, social evolution is much faster than genetic, but not nearly as strong. 20,000 years ago, homo sap did what the big man said, or his assistants would beat you up. so we can imagine democracy, while being incapable of escaping from our heritage of submission to the alphas. that's bad enough, but the smarties have created nuclear weapons and climate crisis, and the alphas have no clue as to keeping us from extinction. they are well-satisfied with being on top, and the future is someone else's problem. so we watch soap-opera management of the most dangerous empire of all time, managed by a cast that could be plucked from a shakespearean comedy, and no one ever says, 'we need a new system.' all the talking heads can come up with, is 'maybe a better fool , if we can find one.'
