if you are unwilling to get democracy, at whatever cost, you will be the serf of some grandee who can command thugs with money or military orders. i'm sorry, the rich and powerful will hold on to their position so long as they can command thugs, and you are not willing to resist. revolution is necessary, and however peaceful your intentions, if you will not fight, you will not win. and you better get busy. conditions are not improving.
