  1. it's nice that a shred of reality peeps through, here, and other places, but it makes no difference. usa will not change without revolution, and i see no sign of that combination of mass revulsion and effective organization needed for revolution. some societies continue on the path set at birth, in fact most. usa was a wrong turn for humanity. founded on slave labor, unlikely to generate community spirit, is it? china is the only successful example of revolution, and it appears that it will be the leading society soon, so long as usa doesn't think nuclear war is an adequate substitute for national efficiency. but even china has its own failure built in. when you only have homo sapiens to work with, no lasting edifice can result. climate disaster and accompanying war, famine and disease will prune humanity soon.
