Anyone who looks for honor among politicians is a fool, or a coward. Their trade is lies, and anyone who endures their rule must admit to cowardice. Democracy is possible, but only in a nation of citizen quality people. There is a certain justice in seeing a nation created for slavery become a nation of serfs.
