  1. elections are not democracy. they are 'warlordism' with ballot-swords. rule by the citizens, through referendum and initiative, is democracy. there are no politicians involved, just public officers administering the will of the electorate. but this doesn't happen, anywhere. even the swiss never got that far on the road to democracy. homo sapiens in nature is ruled by the biggest man, the alpha, with help from betas who get second choice at food and women. you see the resemblance in modern life. this worked ok on the african savanna, it looks like a dead end, at 7 billion and growing.
