  1. ukraine tried to join hitler, and he did recruit a ukrainian division of ss thugs. but hitler wanted to own ukraine and planned to liquidate the majority of ukraine. so the non-nazis wound up on ussr side. farmers don't make good communists. but they preferred to live. plenty of nazis in the usa too. dubya's grandfather comes to mind. that's why they had to leave connecticut, and move to texas, too many rich and powerful jews in connecticut, not many in texas.
