china is not a democracy and says so. western societies say they are democracies, and are not. are you surprised that china's rulers get more respect? the rulers of china have delivered more economic progress than the 'democracies' ever did, and it's widespread. that gets respect.

democracy is not broken, because you haven't got it. the usa is an elective aristocracy and the 'aristocrats are doing very well. and any 'what if' that doesn't have an armed militia behind it is childish fantasy. politics is about real power.

neither china nor india have democracy, india is held back by religion and illiteracy, and over-population.
2
not so. democracy is the label for a polity in which all members [citizens] share power to direct the state, through referendum, initiative and recall.. there are no 'representatives' in democracy. you do not select who shall rule you, but choose what shall be done. chalk and cheese. you are confused by doublethink.

he's a libertarian nutter, if that matters...

no 'becoming' about it. it was designed to be a plutocracy from its founding. the constitution was explicitly designed to empower wealth.
1
no becoming about it. always has been, and if you trouble yourself to acquire some history you will discover that was the purpose of the constitution. power was concentrated in congress, to make sure it was not dispersed by democracy.

strange that the one-time representative of athens has not a word to say about the need for actual democracy. it appears that he shares the myth that democracy means rule by politicians. rule by politicians is just another variety of oligarchy.

the american constitution was written to exclude democracy. yf is strangely ignorant about history and political science.

i would have to see video before i believe innuit society had the numbers, structure and tools to mix it with the greenland norse.

there are no rights, not supported by power. governments generally are run by and for its members, and if they are threatened by a person outside the power group, that person is dealt with by character assassination, or physical assassination. this is one compelling reason ordinary people should demand democracy: by getting it, ordinary people become citizens, members of the ruling group. such a society has no government separate from the people, just clerks administering the direction of the electorate . only then do ordinary people have rights.

yv talks a good game, but he doesn't understand the value of democracy, he thinks all the world needs is to put him in power, and he'll take care of us.

where is this 'democracy' for which you hold fear? perhaps yf would have done better to bring democracy to greece, if possible. or was that too small a stage?
1
obviously not.

and then the man with the gun has a chat with the banker, and gets a share. the banker throws in a uniform and calls it personal security.

there will be no fruitful discussion between lions and sheep until the sheep organize and arm themselves. the minimum wage is not the problem, the problem is that the minimum is a gift, not a right. the gift will not be given. it must be taken, probably at gun-point, and just as important, held by political organization, establishing democracy. democracy will allow the sheep to stay in control of the lions.

yanis is unwilling to admit that democracy doesn't exist, because it is useless to talk to slaves. he dare not recommend revolution, because he's making a good living out of 'criticism'. the elite never go quietly, so long as they have the price of a mercenary gang. his audience will clap, but they will not organize a revolution.

simply not so. what a silly lie! Dmitri Kozlowsky
