  3. the american government is obsolete. the simple fact that a creature like like trump can be the ceo of the nation should demonstrate this reality. get a new constitution. you could scale up the california document, since that is the most successful state.

  4. suppose china stopped buying iphones. that is apple's largest market. or they put buick out of business, overnight. if trump succeeds in making the chinese angry, he may find out how easy it is, to lose a trade war. but i think xi regards trump as a temporary nuisance. ignore him, put a few thousand trump voters out of work, and hope for sanity to return, with a new face in the oval office.

  5. 17 years? whose fault is that? american companies struck individual deals with the chinese in search of cheap labor, and/or access to the chinese market. no complaints from the usa government. still no complaints from apple, or buick, and many other companies. enter trump, who has noticed america is screwing its workers with globalization. and surprise! he's president. that should tell you that american political parties are both utterly corrupt and quite ineffectual. trump won the republican primaries, remember, making the professional politicians look like effete and entitled fools? then he knocked over hillary, simply because she didn't dare visit the rustbelt/flyover cities, having nothing to offer them. it's you that don't get it. trump didn't win, so much as notice that usa is hollow and broken. don't call him 'trump,' call him 'any one not a politician.' and don't blame china. they are not strong, it's just that usa is so weak.  @mactek6033

  6. xi does have to come up with significant progress and show it. the chinese don't vote- but they do riot. both xi and abe are very smart and pragmatic people, they will shake hands and get some business done, with no love visible.

  7. don't hold yer breath. if tiananmen tells chinese to stop buying apple and buick, trump will not get nominated again, much less get elected. he'll be lucky if some american company getting rich in china doesn't have him hit.  @SouthernSteeler

  8. planned management will prevail, barring nuclear war. the trick is too make sure the sociopaths now running the usa understand that the bombs will fall on them, too. and that might not be enough.

  9. the american companies can go back to usa, and sell in usa. but they want to stay in china and sell in china, they went there in the first place because market and labor better than usa. perhaps they would send a message to trump, educating him in this area. america is a bull in the spanish ring, picadors and bandilleros have done their damage, and the bull is near the end.
