despair is sensible, because the usa is designed to be out of reach of the ordinary person. it is an [elective] aristocracy, almost always in the control of wealth. but young people want a future, and old people must make a contribution to getting that future. mr sanders has done what he can, and seeks the power to do more. but i believe his efforts are misdirected. humanity needs democracy, not old rulers, even if those old people are occasionally well intentioned. it's not hard to get democracy, it only needs a lot of people signing a declaration demanding an accessible and effective power of citizen initiative. a concluding 'or else' statement will concentrate the minds of politicians. are there a lot of people who understand the need for democracy? if not, not bernie nor superman, can help you.
