  1. they used to put copper into silver coins, and the result was silver washed copper coins, valued as such. why do such a silly thing? it's not silly, in the short term. it keeps the powerful in power, for another week, another year. that's as far ahead as human society can plan, it appears. which is why we are destroying the environment.
