  1. madison said he was creating a nation that would be safe for the rich. and they have prospered mightily in it. he purposely denigrated democracy, as it would lead to the rich man's taxes being spent on the poor. so he made sure the usa was an oligopoly, controlled by the rich, functionally a plutocracy. and he was successful- that's how it turned out. it won't change until the people write a new constitution, or some general decides to tear it up.
