  1. australia does not play china. the morrison government has decided to be usa lap dog. that plays well, at home. it is disquieting when foreign policy is directed by domestic political advantage, but that's life in a parliamentary monarchy. in recent weeks the prc central committee has promoted oz from useless bystander to active executor of usa policies. i've forgotten the exact phrase, but the notice was our addition to a list: 'strike in the event of war.' rudd is a smart man, and sophisticated, but was unable to enlist the oz voter to empower labor. too bad, might have saved our lives. however, may make no difference. oz is badly directed, but has been 'lucky' in the past. fingers crossed.
