  1. Good review. The Japanese bit off more than they could chew, but really had no choice after crimes in China. The Germans were led by a maniac, but one with combat experience who was sufficiently confident to bring the high command with him into France. When France fell apart, Hitler looked too good to oppose. Perhaps if France had been tougher, the generals would have deposed Hitler.f
