brazil has never been a democracy, and often has been a military dictatorship. bolsonaro was a minor figure in the last one. you might say he has restored default conditions. but, he won an election. the other guys didn't deliver, for enough people. you can't create a democracy from illiterate descamisados. one can reasonably forecast a bright future for bolsonaro, he will win any future elections easily, or not bother with them. the rabid right in the usa will love him and defend him. too bad for brazil.
