  1. free college is a socialist idea. also, sensible: you need educated people to operate a modern society. pete, and the republicans, hate this notion that their taxes should give the kids of poor people a chance to take jobs meant for the children of the rich. but the underlying problem is extracting money from the rich. they run the nation, and they have made tax collection difficult. tax collection should be simple, in a digital age, and it would be simple, in a socialist society: just run every transaction through government servers, and clip off x%. taxes, solved. education, solved. fair and effective national management of the nation is easy, if that's your goal. it's just that a great many americans want their fair share, and as much more as they can steal.
