  1. voting for people is insane. voting for plans, policies, activities- is democracy, assuming the result is binding. but usa remains in the middle ages, locked in by its history, and the resulting poor management is why china and india are going to be humanity's leading societies. not an immediately attractive prospect, but simple reality. hell, even e. u. might ease into 3rd spot. the candidates don't have positions, just lies, chosen for ease of exposition. even forrest gump knew this much: "you never know what yer gonna get." but yer average american ain't as smart as forrest. and american talkng heads not much better, but they have to say something, they don't get paid for silence.
