  1. it's not enough to put bernie in the oval office. presidents need control of house and senate to do substantive things. but not a word about this fundamental fact of usa politics. the democratic party is not his friend, and then there's the republican senate. there's going to be a 'train crash' if bernie gets in, and does little. but america will get over it. they are used to it. the enthusiasm before the election is mounted on fairy dust, and collapses without harm. in the meantime, a lot of talking heads make a living from this reality theater, biden is looking more and more foolish, no handicap in american politics, and more and more certain of success. the fix is in, he imagines. trump's presence in office should have removed all certainty, but perhaps new measures are in place, haven't had a good assassination in years. there is a morbid interest in watching a society unravel.
