imagine for a moment that you lived in a democracy: instead of voting for people, you vote for public action, for changes and addition to laws, for changes to foreign policy. in short, you are a citizen. but you do none of that, and pretend to live in a democracy. elections are not democracy, they are non-violent civil war between gangs contending for power and loot. if you were aware of this political subjection, perhaps you would be ashamed. but you are not. just children enthusing about the charade the grown-ups put on every 4 years. enjoy, but there is a reason the usa is sliding down the ladder, and you are it.
