  1. since no party offers actual democracy, you have to choose a variety of green party. real democracy doesn't have parties, since citizens vote on individual issues, and the only collective activity is the struggle to get democracy. would-be politicians have inserted themselves in the struggle, but it's an imperfect world. aim to get citizen initiative, that is the tool to get what the citizens want. greens is the best on offer, hold yer nose and push.

  2. it is not an accident that the next election looks like a choice between a dimwit sociopath and an addled alzheimer victim. the constitution is absurdly out of date, and was never worth much anyway. protecting slavery and ethnic cleansing is not a moral base on which modern humanity can co-operate. usa should give some consideration to a new founding document. but begin with a simple poll: should usa be a democracy?
