you live in elective aristocracy. you comfort yourself with your 'commoner' status by saying 'milord' will look out for me. but they don't, you know they won't, most won't even try. but getting democracy is hard, and any effort is too much effort. so things change slowly or rapidly, but always for the worse. you are ruled by parasites, citizens of a democracy don't have politicians, they are unnecessary, and bad for your health. but their rule extinguishes any power of self-management or self-respect. quite like vampires, really. talk about rock and a hard place!
