i suppose it's only natural to talk like the presidency is important. you can vote for a president. sort of. but what's actually important, you can't vote for. so there is a disconnect between talk and action as wide as the sky. this may be why the usa is sinking, china surging ahead. closer at hand, these talk shows are just faux politics in a nation where real politics happens out of sight. there's a living in it, and welcome to it. but i wish there was more substantive talk, with some relevance to the future of the world, and humanity. there are vastly more important questions to ask, climate crisis comes easily to mind.
