  1. there is only one solution to a nation's problems: only democracy offers a chance that decisions will improve the life of most of the people. government by any elite will only help a minority of people, the elite and their supporters. there are no democracies at present, possibly excepting switzerland, so it may be this is a solution beyond the normal capabilities of humanity. if so, we are doomed. voting for politicians is not democracy. elections are just non-violent civil war, creating an elite ruling group small enough to be bought, rented, occupied or bribed by the rich. that was the express purpose of the constitution, and it has worked well for the rich from the beginning. democracy is possible, some american states would be a democracy, if independent, and the word is in constant use since it has charms for the ordinary voter. but that use is lies to keep people from democracy by insisting you have it, when you don't. rule by politician is leading humanity off a climate cliff. changing politicians won't fix it, you just get a buttigieg in exchange for a trump. so, wake up, or die.
