  1. and the celeb dance contest rolls on. it's all kabuki, so you can't expect any real passion, half the dancers are zombies. but it keeps the americans mesmerized, and there is no visible effort to establish democracy. you can't expect politicians to put themselves out of work, and citizen action groups require citizen-quality people. none in view. once a society decides politics belongs to politicians, they are doomed.
