  1. politics as a celebrity dance contest. candidates can not tell the people what they will do if elected, simply because they can do very little with out support from congress and supreme court. and what they can do, can be undone, by the next king-for-awhile. and of course, once in office, he might turn out to be a puppet of some group called pnac, or aipec, or nra. i used to marvel that american professionals did not press for democracy to bring sanity and long-term planning to the the nation. but it turns out their world view is pretty much that of the bubba demographic.
