  1. any elite society will limit the intellectual opportunities of the children of the many. when selfishness of the elite begins to visibly erode the lives of the many, panic begins to appear. as they are incapable of correcting the elite, and incapable of effective organized resistance, panic will drive flight from impending starvation into mindless rebellion. see 'jacqueries'.
