  2. india is a failed state. can reasonably assign most of the blame to britain, but how to recover from exploitation may simply have no answer. the comparison with china suggests that the communist ideology, "we are one class, one nation, and our personal well-being arises from national success," is an asset both necessary, and unavailable to india. politicians are a curse, religion is a curse and india is smothered by both.
