  3. get democracy. you may have to read a bit, to learn what it is. the people of california can tell you- the basics are that big decisions are made by referendum, and initiative. and it is fundamental that all administration activity be public, 'as it happens.' paradise will not result, but when most of the voters have to agree to public activity, you can reasonably expect the result will be better, for most of the voters. letting an elite rule you in secret would be crazy, unless they are people, and you are cattle. that may be the case, as i can think of no other explanation for the current situation.
