you have to vote for someone, or stay home. it's not democracy, but elective oligarchy is better than plain old monarchy. so, syou are poiled for choice this time, for two reasons: 1-trump looks very beatable.* 2-democrat establishment reeks. losing to trump, by talking to goldman, sachs instead of visiting mid-west and offering programs is not going to be quickly forgotten.
new faces very much desired, plenty have applied. old faces, even bernie, much less loved.
buttigieg is smart, educated, ticked off all the boxes, and can form a good sentence, building a discourse worth listening to. a winning combination, you might think, but obama demonstrated that he could do all that, and accomplish very little. mayor pete needs to write a program, what to do, how to do it.
andrew yang is equally smart, and doesn't want to be a politician- he wants to do things, has thought out ideas on what and how. his only serious weakness is that he doesn't want to sneak into office on charm, he wants to be a referendum with a face and a verbal user's manual. voters should love that, but they never have seen it before and it may require too much thinking for the electorate. maybe he should be consigliere for mayor pete.
*andy yang doesn't need a party. he pulls votes from every direction. could run as an independent and put trump in power.again. yang and buttigieg should have a chat and make sure this doesn't happen.
