  1. politicians make their living by appeasing wealthy donors. the 'two-party system' can quickly become a 1 1/2 party system because losing gracefully pays just as much as winning. the map of the usa is almost entirely red, outside of the cities and the reds have a grip on the senate which continues even when they lose the presidency. because the president and senate are more often red, the supremes are too. madison designed a nation that could be held by the rich and it has worked ever since. it will continue to be a functional plutocracy until there is a new constitution. there is no visible effort to get a democratic constitution, so usa will continue to rot. the democrats are not your friends, no politician is your friend. aoc will have a fine career as the token 'lefty' but you can't reform a bandit gang from within.
