  2. i have been suggesting secession for 50 years now, centered on establishing 'westcoastia' as a nation. there would have to be a transition period, much as mr. hartmann describes. but he is working with inferior clay. usans do not cohere, the sense of community was never strong, and long since leached out by their masters. i wonder if that lack of community spirit might cause the collapse of the nation in the face of determined rebellion, but i see no sign of the resolute character needed to confront the military strength of usa. i am certain the federal government would attempt forceful recovery of 'westcoastia,' but it might fail, we'll never know. the grit ain't there.
