  1. instead of talking endlessly about people, why not look at the society and political structure that puts a 'trump' in the oval office? if you do that, you can begin to think about changing things to put better national managers in office. not entirely impossible. the original progressive movement, early 1900's, organized people sick of corruption and incompetence in their state governments to re-write their constitutions. as a result, about half the states have some, or all, of the features of democracy. california is a good example, while they still elect politicians, much of the legislation is controlled by referendum, and sometimes initiative and recall, as well. until you get democracy, talking about people is wasted. it just needs one trump to trash the nation. the consistently poor management of the nation should be obvious to all. it is the natural result of the constitution, written chiefly to empower the rich.
