  1. you don't have rights. only members of the ruling class have rights. the great majority of usans have privileges, as children do. they are not citizens of a democracy, they are civilians in an oligarchy. privileges are flexible, at the convenience of the masters. only in a democracy do the people become citizens, the ruling class. didn't they teach political science in your school? in modern times, only the swiss have democracy. they decided not to submit to the nazis by referendum. they were an island of freedom in a sea of military dictatorship, by choice of the citizens. the people of the usa are not of that quality. they submit to injustice because they are born in it, and raised on a diet of lies. rebellion may happen, but revolution needs more than rage, and the middle class is more concerned with holding their declining share of national wealth than with organizing revolution. they watch the degradation of the poor with averted eyes, hoping not to join them. but they will, and soon.
