pleasant news, if true. but i can't think of any significant precedent for a dominant power to simply declare bankruptcy. rulers generally reach for the sword, in history, on the 'we need money, they got it' principle.
there is a lot of fat, in the usa economy, and as long as nuclear war is averted, usa can prune expenses easily. even trump can see that--- who else wants to leave nato?
but most of the fat is in military expense, and pruning soldiers is dangerous, 'retiring' generals more so.
there is no excuse for usa military proliferation, except the transfer of taxes into share-holders pockets. share-holders are more dangerous than soldiers or generals so there's all kinds of danger in pruning fat in the usa.
a dilemma with 2 equally ugly horns. most likely outcome? biden gets in, usa goes to war. let's hope the only victim is venezuela.
