  1. you can't buy democracy. you either have it, or you don't. that's because democracy is not a thing, it's a condition. "who decides?" aristotle asked. the answer is the label on your society. when the answer is "the citizens decide." then you live in a democracy. but that is not the case, in the usa. politicians rule, in the usa. that is not democracy. why then do people talk about 'our democracy?'
