  1. the important take-away from the nixon regime is that if all else fails, you just retire and write your exculpatory memoirs. there might be a significance in his bringing china into the world of international trade, enriching american shareholders by sending their work to china. simultaneously enriching china in cash and technology as we see today. this would be treachery in a society that valued community, but usa is not one of those. in the land of the rich, the unrich are cattle, and there is no nation, just gated communities, and paved wilderness.
