  1. guns are just a tool, but it's so much easier to say, "baaad gun!" than to wonder why so many usans want to kill people. but that subject is never examined, presumably in the 'too hard' basket. to be fair, it is too hard. there is no tool to change usa culture, because it is not a democracy. so, no citizen initiative. some people beg their masters, in political power, to disarm the criminals and nutters, so that slavery is more comfortable. but there is money in the gun trade, so this begging doesn't get much result. besides, a nation of sociopaths provides the cheap soldiers of vigorous capitalism that is the usa version of empire.
