  1. fascism is here to stay, it's part of the species' genetic heritage. of more pressing import is the lack of democracy. indeed, the widespread assumption that usa is some kind of democracy demonstrates the efficacy of double-think and newspeak. a society which is unresponsive to the needs of its members is susceptible to violence as a release of rage, or an attempt at revolution. the recent fracas at the capitol was near the rage end of the spectrum, no visible planning beyond car-pooling. better planing and achievable goals will be along soon, and there is nothing to be done about it. madison bragged that his society would last 'for the ages' and has had admirable success. of course, that guarantees that change will be radical, violent and catastrophic. you don't have to worry about trump's hand on the trigger, he's a coward to begin with and only wandered into power as a device to repair his declining fortune. as a commentary on the degenerate political class of the usa, his example should be long-remembered. but i suspect public attention will be hurriedly diverted. the degenerates will continue to rule and will strive to put the embarrassment out of mind quickly.
